A beautiful gilded conker with a gilded snail. This year I collected conkers with my sister and when I got home there was a little snail amongst my hoard. It inspired me to include a snail from my collection made in Scotland while on a residency. There will be more to follow.

Medium: Cast glass gilded with 23.5 carat gold leaf. The polished base is like a little window that allows you to see inside the conker.
Made using clear glass from a family run business in the Czech Republic.
Created using the lost wax technique made famous during Renaissance times - no snails were harmed in the making of this piece!
